burning iso image s

I just downloaded the vista beta preview and burned the image to a dvd-r, using Nero 6 however the program will not install on any of my machines. All of my machines are using xp pro and one media centre 2005 and all have at least 40gb free on C drive.
The image on the DVD says 3.13gb or thereabouts but it will not run/execute when i try to install it.
What am I doing wrong? is it the type of disk? did i choose wrong setting? I burned it as a data cd.

If you have the ISO on the DVD you did the wrong thing. You have to use the option to burn a disk image.
